Chelsea confirm injuries to Cucurella and Sanchez

Chelsea have released a statement confirming injuries to defender Marc Cucurella and keeper Robert Sanchez ahead of Chelsea's clash with Sheffield United.

Both players came off due to injuries in last weekend's defeat to Everton and the following update has been issued on the players:

"Following initial assessments, Cucurella is now due to meet foot and ankle specialists with next steps to be decided in the coming days.

"Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sanchez has undergone assessments on his knee with the club’s medical department and specialists."

The Everton defeat has proved to be costly not just in terms of points but also personnel for Pochettino who also lost skipper Reece James to a hamstring injury in the same game.
