Cole Palmer was the difference-maker for Chelsea against Sheffield United, scoring the opener and providing an assist for Nicolas Jackson's goal in a 2-0 win.
"For me he’s a playmaker, a player who can link the team," Mauricio Pochettino said about the 21-year-old in his first year as a regular starter in the Premier League.
"He’s also a player with the capacity to score goals and give assists. The contribution of Cole Palmer from day one has been massive."
Palmer already has six goals and three assists to his name in his first season at Chelsea.
He was Chelsea's last summer signing for £42.5m and, despite the lack of major Premier League experience prior to the move, he already looks like a bargain and the best bit of business under the new ownership.
