Chelsea aim to buy another club — plan revealed by president of the country

Chelsea's owners have made it their public intention to set up a multi-club model. So far, however, Ligue 1 side Strasbourg remains the only other club in the BlueCo stable.

It's not for the lack of trying, though, as Todd Boehly & Co have been busy trying to arrange deals for clubs in Portugal, Brazil and other countries. Now, Argentina offers another opportunity.

The country's new president Javier Milei has supported a new law allowing Argentine clubs to become public limited companies. That opens the door for investment, and Chelsea are keen.

“As soon as the decree came out, Chelsea was interested in investing in Argentina," Milei said, as quoted by Ben Jacobs.

"There are many international football clubs that want to invest in Argentina because it goes without saying that this country is a cradle of stars."

It's not clear which clubs have been targeted by Chelsea, or whether this is indeed a realistic opportunity.
