Palmer explains Luton goals celebration — it has to do with Man City

Cole Palmer bagged a brace in Chelsea's 3-2 victory against Luton Town on Saturday. The Englishman celebrated by rubbing his hands as if trying to keep warm.

It has nothing to do with cold weather though. As the forward has revealed, he referenced the celebration of his Man City academy teammate Morgan Rogers, who did the same after scoring against West Brom last week.

"My boy Morgs did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I’d do it too if I scored," Palmer explained, as quoted by the Blues' official website.

Curiously, the Chelsea attacker will be able to face Rogers in January as the Blues will lock horns with Boro in the League Cup semi-finals.

"I saw the keeper come out and took it round him," Cole added about his second goal against Luton.

"Once I’d taken it round the keeper I thought the defender on the line was going to come across fast, so if I waited a second I’d have time to put it in. I was just telling myself to think and keep my composure."
