Pochettino confirms Nkunku injury

“Nkunku injured his hip in training," Mauricio Pochettino told the media.

"They will need to see if he can be ready for the next few games,” Poch added.

Christopher Nkunku was conspicuously missing from Chelsea's squad in their 4-0 win against Preston North End.

The French striker missed four months through a knee injury he picked up during preseason in the United States.

Nkunku scored a shootout penalty on his return to action and followed it up with a headed goal in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat at Wolves to highlight the attacking impetus he brings to the team.

Chelsea will now be hoping the 25-year-old is fit enough to compete in their busy winter schedule as Nicolas Jackson is away on international duty.
