Premier League CEO confirms status of investigation into Chelsea spending

Everton and Nottingham Forest have been charged with spending breaches by the Premier League, but other clubs are still under investigation.

That includes Chelsea, as Premier League CEO Richard Masters said when questioned by the Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

"On Chelsea, as you know, the new owners came forward with information to The FA, UEFA and Premier League about previous ownership and we're still investigating that," Masters said, as per Sky Sports.

"We don't announce the outcome of that until we have completed those investigations."

Chelsea's current owners are confident they are not violating the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules. As for any potential breaches committed by the previous ownership, they believe cooperation to be the best strategy to avoid the harshest punishment.
