'Still got a way to go': Evan Ferguson told he's not ready for Chelsea move yet

Brighton's 19-year-old striker Evan Ferguson has been mentioned as one of Chelsea's targets for the No.9. According to the Evening Standard, any transfer for the teenager could cost more than £100million.

However, Brighton CEO Paul Barber insists that Ferguson is not yet ready for a move — although selling him is a part of the club's long-term project.

"Someone like Evan, who’s an incredible talent, he’s still got a way to go to learn his trade," Barber told talkSPORT.

"Letting him go at some point in the future is going to be I’m sure part of the overall plan, both from our side and Evan’s side, but in the short-term we want to try and make sure we develop him the best we can."

This season, Ferguson has scored six goals in 16 Premier League games, rarely completing 90 minutes on the pitch.

He is a raw product which may not be the best fit for Chelsea as they have plenty of such players already in the squad.
