Speaking about why Chelsea couldn’t get the win over Brentford, Mauricio Pochettino said: “45 minutes we were very good, we controlled the game. It was about to keep pushing and playing the same way. They increased their level.
“We were not consistent and needed to defend better. When we conceded it changed the game. We were the better side but we need to score in key moments, have some luck and defend better.
“After six days, where we competed in three tough games, I think the effort was massive.”
Chelsea dominated their London rivals in the first half, creating the better chances and keeping them quiet. However, as Poch indicates, some lapses of concentration in the backline allowed the Bees back to make a comeback – before a late equalizer from Axel Disasi helped Chelsea get a draw.
Poch has had a pretty poor record against Brentford this season, with his side being unable to defeat them in both Premier League games.
