Conor Gallagher told he 'let it slip through his fingers' with Brazil display

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Craig Hope said: "Conor Gallagher let it slip through his fingers against Brazil. Errant passes, duels lost.

"The verdict was one of an opportunity missed. Gallagher, in fairness, broke the lines to make some purposeful forward charges, especially early on.

"He just does not have the quality on the ball to convert on positions of promise. It would be better if Declan Rice was making those bursts."

Gallagher started for England at Wembley at the weekend as the Three Lions suffered a 1–0 friendly defeat ahead of this summer's Euro 2024 tournament.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been a standout player for Chelsea so far this season but that doesn't guarantee him a place in the England squad.
