Romeo Lavia will not play again this season after suffering another injury setback, it has been confirmed. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that the injury hell the youngster is going through has been caused by Chelsea's decisions.
"The management of the London club's medical staff when he returned from injury in December has undoubtedly had a clear impact on this situation," Tavolieri tweeted.
The midfielder arrived injured to Chelsea in August. The 20-year-old made his first appearance of the season against Crystal Palace on December 27, featuring for 32 minutes. He suffered another setback after that.
Chelsea paid £53m to Southampton for Lavia, plus £5m in add-ons. He reportedly earns £100k-a-week on a contract that runs until the summer of 2030.
