Are Chelsea co-owners really not on good terms? Explained

Earlier this year, reports emerged that Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are 'not on as good terms now as they once were'.

The rumours are swirling again as Boehly is now expected to be replaced as club chairman in 2027 as the rotation of this role was stipulated in the agreement between the shareholders.

Still, the Daily Mail claims that there is no rift between Boehly and Eghbali. The switch was always expected to happen due to the structure of the deal to buy Chelsea in 2022.

Moreover, Boehly will have the right to assume the role of a chairman in 2032 if he retains the stock and interest. So far, there's nothing to suggest that he won't.

It's claimed that the owners don't expect their priorities and strategy to change significantly by 2027 and beyond. The hope is that all the heavy lifting has already been done and the only way is up — despite the fans' pessimism.
