Mauricio Pochettino was involved in a surprising argument with some journalists after Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Everton on Monday (April 15).
The gaffer had apparently left the post-match press conference earlier than what journalists wanted him to. This was because Pochettino was annoyed with how all questions were aimed at the penalty controversy in the game.
According to the Daily Mail, the person who argued with Pochettino and shouted ‘s*** management’ was actually Neil Barnett.
For those unknowing, Barnett had actually worked as Chelsea’s pitchside announcer at Stamford Bridge for 32 years before being released from the job in 2018.
Even back then, he was annoyed at the abrupt manner in which the club let him leave – tweeting in July 2018: “After being courteously informed yesterday I will not be hosting match days on the pitch this season, & following an insulting silence from Chelsea TV, it seems my 32 years working relationship with @ChelseaFC is over. It's been a blast. Being in with the fans still is!”
