FA Cup to scrap replays COMPLETELY starting from next season

The Football Association and the Premier League have agreed to scrap replays completely in the FA Cup starting from 2024/25.

Besides, all FA Cup rounds will be now played on weekends and there will be few mid-week games.

The current format implies there are no replays starting from round five while many games are played mid-week. This will now change amid the emergence of the new format of the European competitions which will see the increase in the number of matches played.

The FA and the Premier League insist the change will 'strengthen' the existing FA Cup format.
