Enzo Fernandez reveals he had been playing with 'pain and injections for 8 months'

Enzo Fernandez recently underwent surgery on his groin which has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

The player has now explained his decision to go ahead with the surgery and that he had been taking injections to play for a long time.

“I was playing with pain and injections for 8 months," revealed the Argentinian midfielder.

“I had to make the decision to have surgery, it was the best. I was harming the team and didn't want to expose myself."

Enzo's bright start to his Chelsea career was somewhat dimmed this season and it is clear that the pain and discomfort was a big part of his effectiveness on the pitch.

Hopefully, after his surgery, he can come back fully fit and rejuvenated for the next season.
