Mauricio Pochettino names the toughest moment in first Chelsea season

At a press conference ahead of the final game of his first season at Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino was asked whether he feared the sack at any point.

"I can be honest? I think after Wolves, the home game, you remember what happened also," Pochettino replied.

"I didn’t think that I was going to be sacked, but I did think it was a tough moment, that defeat at home was really, really tough.

"In this moment when you are a coach and coaching staff you can feel the loneliness.

"When you feel like everyone is seeing you like you are guilty of something that you don’t know really what that is.

"I think in this moment we felt the loneliness, because we were alone after the game.

"I think we spent two hours, that was the longest time after the game we were there, the coaching staff, in a very small room."

The Wolves defeat was on February 4, and it was followed by Belle Silva's blunt message calling for changes at the club.

Since then, Chelsea have lost just one out of 14 games in the Premier League and went up to sixth in the table.
