McKenna says yes to Chelsea

Kieran McKenna has 'given a green light' to Chelsea to negotiate with Ipswich Town over releasing him from his contract, the Evening Standard report.

The 38-year-old is ready to take up an opportunity at the Bridge. Tractor Boys don't want to let him go so the Blues would have to pay a compensation of around £4m.

The Northern Irishman achieved two successive promotions with Ipswich, taking them from League One to the Premier League in just two years.

Chelsea sacked Mauricio Pochettino earlier this week. The Blues finished sixth in the Premier League this season.
