Conor Gallagher has been heavily linked with a summer exit from Chelsea but the Athletic report that his departure is not 'definite'.
The Blues 'have not ruled out' giving the midfielder a new contract and keeping him at the club.
The report also adds that the potential arrival of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will not change anything for Gallagher. The Leicester midfielder is seen as a different profile to the Chelsea vice-captain and he would not be considered a replacement for Conor.
The England international made 37 league appearances for the Blues, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. He started a large number of games as a captain due to the unavailability of Reece James.
The 24-year-old's contract with Chelsea expires in 2025 and this summer represents the best opportunity to cash in on him. However, the Cobham academy graduate has firmly established himself as a one of the best players in his position in England and as one of the leaders at the club so selling him would certainly irritate a large portion of the Blues' fanbase.
