Chelsea have confirmed that Newcastle have signed Lewis Hall on a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old spent the 2023/24 season on loan at St James Park, making 18 league appearances.
The terms of the loan meant that the Magpies are obliged to buy the midfielder. Overall, Chelsea will receive £35m for Hall — £7m for the loan and £28m for the permanent transfer.
Hall was named the Academy player of the Year in 2023 and made 10 first-team appearances for Chelsea. A Newcastle fan since childhood, he took the opportunity to sign for Toon last summer.
"We wish Lewis the best of luck in his next chapter and look forward to seeing him again soon," Chelsea said in the statement confirming Hall's departure.
