Both Mundo Deportivo and Calciomercato have just reported that Carles Perez is already in Rome to finalize his transfer to AS Roma.
The player will have his medical tests later today, Wednesday, January 29.
Curiously, the sources cannot agree on the nature of Carles' deal. Mundo Deportivo claim the striker will join Roma on a permanent basis and sign a five-year contract. He will cost the Italians an initial €13m plus a further €2m in variables.
Calciomercato, for their part, believe Carles will only join Roma on a loan deal with the €13.5m obligation to buy. He is expected to receive €2m a year.
Still, both news outlets insist Barcelona won't have a buyback clause. Instead, they will have an option of first refusal, Mundo Deportivo add.
We'll be waiting for an official announcement to clear up Carles' contract terms.
Carles has scored two goals in 12 first-team appearances for the Catalans this season. He has also bagged three assists.
