Sergio Ramos hopes Real Madrid could save their season by beating Barca in Clasico

Real Madrid's captain Sergio Ramos has given his verdict on the upcoming Clasico.

"It's not just any other game," Ramos told Marca, explaining the importance of the upcoming game.

"Despite there just being three points at stake, as there is in every game, El Clasico is a game unlike any other. Beating Barcelona would bring us great joy.

"What's more, it usually has a really positive impact on the group in terms of morale."

Barcelona travel to Real Madrid this Sunday, March 1. The Catalans need to win in order to extend their lead on top of the league table. Currently, the sides are separated by just two points.

Moreover, Barcelona have suffered just one defeat in February while Los Blancos are winless in the last three games in all competitions. They were held to a surprise 2-2 home draw by Celta and suffered two painful losses: 1-0 against Levante away and 2-1 against Manchester City at the Bernabeu.

By the way, the Catalans have won the last four league games at the Santiago Bernabeu.
