According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, Antoine Griezmann's transfer to Barcelona will be officially announced on Wednesday.
The story of the Frenchman has been one of the biggest topics in the summer transfer window so far.
The move is surrounded by all kinds of controversial rumours. While Griezmann himself and Atletico Madrid confirm that the forward will leave the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, Josep Maria Bartomeu recently claimed there have been no talks between the Blaugrana and Griezmann:
"We’ve always said it. We’ve never spoken to him. There’s nothing. We’re already seeing how the market is growing these days and weeks," he said as quoted by 101 Great Goals.
On the contrary, Atletico CEO Gil Marin has said: "I know exactly where he’s going to play. I’ve known since March. In Barcelona."
And now AS claim that Barcelona (via Griezmann’s representatives) will pay the Frenchman’s 120 million Euro release clause (as is customary in La Liga) either on Monday or on Tuesday morning the latest. On Wednesday, the transfer will finally be made official.
On Thursday Griezmann will arrive in Barcelona and his official presentation at the Camp Nou will be scheduled for Friday.
