Catalan media claim PSG have new anti-Barca strategy

Diario Sport understand that PSG have an anti-Barca transfer strategy in place. The roots of the conflict between the Frenchmen and the Catalans go back to the times when Barca were trying to sign several PSG players including Thiago Silva and Marco Verratti. It is understood that the 'victory' over the Ligue 1 champions in Frenkie de Jong race has only fuelled the conflict.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has first decided to deal with the Blaugrana by going after their players. Jordi Alba, Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho have all been either approached or heavily linked with PSG. Neymar is the only player who fell for the Paris money and we have all seen where it got him.

According to Sport, Al-Khelaifi has a new strategy now. His intention is to approach or at least to create an impression of PSG's interest in the same players Barca are linked with. With De Jong already at Barca, Matthijs de Ligt and Luka Jovic are the latest examples.

'Naturally, the three cases mentioned relate to big, emerging players, so it's normal that all Europe's big clubs are interested in them,' Diario Sport admit. However, it is rather obvious that PSG are not in a desperate need of a centre-back or a centre-forward as opposed to Barca. The key objective of such tactics is to raise the price of a player artificially increasing the demand.

How should Barca deal with PSG's aggression?
