No rest for the wicked. Tuesday's edition of Barcelona-based newspaper Diario Sport appear with Neymar as their cover star. They run a sensational story: allegedly, the Catalans and the Brazilian have reached a verbal agreement over a five-year contract. The approval from Paris Saint-Germain is the only thing missing.
Moreover, Neymar has reportedly accepted to lower his salary in order to get the much-desired Camp Nou return. The Brazilian is said to receive a whopping €37million yearly at PSG. However, his expected annual wages at Barcelona were cited to be at just €22million. Sport, meanwhile, insist he is set to earn half of his annual salary at PSG.
Finally, Neymar would have to withdraw his lawsuits against FC Barcelona. The Brazilian used to insist that his former club owed him a loyalty bonus which the Catalans were refusing to pay because of his PSG move. The legal battle has been dragging on ever since.
The rumours on Neymar's potential return keep coming and it's hard to determine which of them could be at least 50% true. On Monday, Diario Sport reported that the Brazilian was allegedly ready to publicly apologize for his Barcelona exit which would be the first time since his PSG move. They believe this public manifestation would force the Parisians to offload him.
