Iniesta shines and tears his hamstring on Torres' final career game

Andres Iniesta confirms his star status in Japan with yet another brilliant performance at Vissel Kobe. This Friday, he played against Sagan Tosu and helped his side to earn an impressive 6-1 win.

The scoreline was already at 3-0 before the 22nd minute with Iniesta responsible all three goals. He started the attack which led to the opener, converted a penalty for the second goal and was heavily involved in the third goal as well.

Unfortunately for the former Barcelona legend, he suffered a hamstring tear and had to leave the pitch after the first half. It didn't prevent Kobe from winning. Curiously, it was another ex-Blaugrana, Thomas Vermaelen, who scored an own goal for Kobe.

By the way, this J1 League fixture was highlighted by another player, former Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea star Fernando Torres. This match turned out to be the final career game for the Spaniard.

Iniesta has been at Vissel Kobe since the summer of 2018. The 35-year-old has become a true star in Japan as he has been recently named his side's new captain. At Kobe, he has scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 33 games.

Earlier this summer, Vissel Kobe faced Barcelona for a friendly. The Catalans won 2-0 thanks to Carles Perez's brace.
