Barcelona travel to bottom-placed Huesca this Saturday, 13 April. Ernesto Valverde has given plenty of his first-team players some rest. For example, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi are both excluded from the match squad. Meanwhile, Ivan Rakitic is out with a fever while Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez are both suspended.
How could Barcelona line-up against the La Liga minnows? We've come up with several potential formations.
Option 1: Let's start all the best players available
We all know that Valverde is VERY conservative. Even though he is unable to field his so-called gala XI, he could use all the best players available. The defensive duo of Samuel Umtiti and Jeison Murillo looks a bit risky though. It also remains to be seen whether Ousmane Dembele is fit enough to play even though he received a medical 'all-clear' on Tuesday.
Option 2: Time for Todibo debut?
During the pre-Huesca presser, Valverde admitted he views January signing Jean-Clair Todibo as a central defender. Perhaps, it is about time for the Frenchman to make his La Liga debut? He could start alongside Samuel Umtiti instead of Jeison Murillo who failed to impress the coaching staff with his Copa del Rey displays back in January.
Option 3: Heavy rotation
Huesca occupy the last place in the La Liga table while Barca are miles ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid. There is nothing to worry about in this clash. Valverde could possibly experiment with his starting line-up and bring Moussa Wague on. The Senegalese is particularly impressing for the reserves' sides. Jasper Cillessen could also receive a nod as he isn't expected to feature until the Copa del Rey final on 25 May.
