As it turns out, signing a new left-back is one of Barcelona's priorities for next summer. And, as Diario Sport claim, Borussia Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro is one of the options.
The Catalan outlet report that Blaugrana are still closely following their ex-target and might come in with a bid this summer.
The 26-year-old's contract with Dortmund runs until 2023 and he is valued at €35m by Transfermarkt. However, Diario Sport say the player could be available for €25m or even less as the current coronavirus outbreak is expected to lower the prices of footballers across the world.
The Portuguese is wanted by the club as they have not been particularly impressed by Junior Firpo, who might actually leave Camp Nou in the next transfer window. Thus, Guerreiro is seen as a potential replacement for Jordi Alba who is already 31 years old.
This season, the player has recorded five goals and five assists in 29 matches. He has been used as a left-back and a left midfielder.
Obviously, it's not the first time Barca have been linked with Raphael. The left-back was on our radar back in 2016 when he was still at Lorient. However, the Catalans couldn't offer him the same squad role as BVB did, so the Portugal international left for Germany.
Finally, Diario Sport claim that Barcelona will make an investment in a new left-back once they land Neymar and/or Lautaro Martinez. Signing a left-footed centre-back who could cover the left flank is also an option. However, this would depend on the future of Samuel Umtiti.
