Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has revealed how Jose Mourinho convinced him to join Inter Milan at the end of the 2008/2009 campaign.
He explained to Gazzetta Dello Sport: "Mourinho convinced me in a simple way.
"He sent me a photo of Inter's No. 9 shirt and wrote to me saying: 'It's yours, it's waiting for you'.
"[Marco] Materazzi then messaged me saying: 'If you come to Inter, we'll win everything'.
"I didn't have his number on my phone so I asked [Demetrio] Albertini: 'Is it yours?'
"Such a thing had never happened to me in my whole career and that message carried great weight in my decision."
Eto'o left Barcelona for Inter Milan on July 27, 2009, after the Blaugrana won the historic sextuple.
He bagged 130 goals and 40 assists for the Catalan giants from 199 appearances during his spell at Camp Nou.
