According to local Dutch source Rijnmond, Barcelona have enquired about Feyenoord's promising midfielder Orkun Kokcu.
The same source adds that the 19-year-old is also wanted by Arsenal and Sevilla. Barca's interest is an icing of the cake. The Catalans have already contacted the Dutch side over the potential transfer.
Kokcu has a contract until 2023, however, he is unlikely to stay at the club for the next season. If Feyenoord fail to improve his deal, they will ask for €18million for their promising youngster; Rijnmond conclude.
The 19-year-old is a midfielder who mostly plays closer to the attacking line. Kokcu has scored three goals and provided 6 assists in 35 games in all competitions.
The attacking midfielder used to represent the Netherlands' youth sides. However, he's been playing for Turkey U21 since September 2019. Kokcu has managed one assist in two games for Turkey.
According to WhoScored, Kokcu is great at long shots, dribbling and set-pieces. However, his discipline and tackling remains an issue. His 1.75cm height doesn't allow the 19-year-old to show his best aerial game either.
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona really need Kokcu as they already have plenty of young midfielders within their ranks. Perhaps, the 19-year-old is a candidate to strengthen the reserves side, though.
