Although he has had a mediocre season when taking into consideration his usual Barcelona numbers, the 2019/20 has been a special season for Leo Messi nonetheless. Four times this season, we've seen reports about the 33-year-old beating entire teams in terms of stats.

1. More goals contributions than Everton have scored goals — ESPN FC [July 2020]

With 30 goals and 26 assists, Messi has recorded 56 goal contributions this season. By the way, the best result in Europe alongside Robert Lewandowski. Meanwhile, Everton have scored 54 goals in total this season: 44 in the Premier League and 10 in the EFL Cup.

2. More free-kick goals than any other team in the last 5 years — Diario Sport [October 2019]

Back in autumn, the Barcelona-based outlet reported that Messi had 20 free-kick goals over the last five years. In the meantime, no club recorded as many. Juventus had 15, Roma, Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon — 13 and Bologna — 12. Since then, the captain scored two more goals from set-pieces.
