Deulofeu ranks Ronaldinho above Messi – here's what Dinho himself said about same comparison as far back as 2005

In a recent interview, former Barcelona player Gerard Deulofeu said that he considers Ronaldinho to be a better player than Leo Messi, despite the latter's qualities.

There are many people who won't agree with Deulofeu, and Ronaldinho himself would be one of them, as he noticed Messi's class long before the world learned who the Argentine was.

"This award says I’m the best player in the world, but I’m not even the best player at Barcelona," Ronaldinho told The Telegraph back in 2005 when awarded the Ballon d'Or.

"Leo Messi reminds me more of Maradona, both left-footed and short, Messi is the best player in the world, along with Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"For us it is not a surprise. Since he began to come and train with us and we knew we would go down this path. Someday I will explain that I was at the birth of one of the footballing greats: Leo Messi."

Remember, this was in 2005 when Messi was only 18 years old and making his first steps at the first team. In the 2005/06 season, Leo recorded eight goals and five assists in 25 matches. Unfortunately, the Argentine missed the second part of the season through injury.
