Font: 'It's evident that Griezmann shouldn't have been signed'

"It's very surprising [to see what is happening with Griezmann] considering the talent he has," presidential candidate Victor Font has told Cadena COPE.

"In the end, it's evident that Griezmann is a signing that should not have been made because of the position he plays in. Everyone that understands football has said that Griezmann occupies Messi's position. It's been complicated to fit him in."

Barcelona signed Griezmann from Atletico Madrid after triggering his €120m release clause. So far this season, the Frenchman has recorded two goals and an assist across nine games. Ronald Koeman has used him in three different positions: on the right wing, at centre-forward and as an attacking midfielder.
