5 times Barca have been really unlucky this season

Barcelona have registered nine wins, two draws and five losses so far this term. And while it's true that our performances have been far from perfect, we should also admit that there have been matches in which things could've gone another route had Barca had more luck

Griezmann's terrible miss in Getafe loss

In the 30th minute of the Getafe clash, while the score was still 0-0, Pedri sent Antoine Griezmann through with a brilliant through ball but the Frenchman's shot went over the bar. We are confident that should Griezmann get another 10 chances like that, he'd score most of them. But on that night, luck wasn't on his side.

Final result: Getafe 1-0 Barcelona

(Very) controversial penalty vs Real Madrid

This penalty was awarded to Real Madrid while the score was 1-1. Clement Lenglet did hold Sergio Ramos by his shirt but the Blancos' captain even fell in the wrong direction. There were many similar situations later in the season that weren't considered fouls.

Final result: Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid

Pacheco heroics in Alaves match

Against Alaves, Barcelona registered 25 shots in total, nine of them were on target but netted only once. The hosts' goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco had a brilliant match, recording seven saves. What's more, six of them were after shots from insider the penalty box. On that night, Pacheco actually registered the most saves in a single La Liga game this season according to OptaJose.

Match result: Alaves 1-1 Barcelona

Pique's horrible injury

We are already used to our players getting muscle injuries this term because of the tough calendar, but Gerard Pique's injury was actually an accident and a very unlucky one. Angel Correa didn't even commit a foul on our centre-back. It was actually Jordi Alba who fouled the Atletico Madrid forward and he simply fell on Pique's leg. As a result, 'Geri' is out for at least four months.

Match result: Atletico 1-0 Barcelona

Beginners mistake (and possible referee mistake) vs Cadiz

Oscar Mingueza ended up shooting on his own goal vs Cadiz after being dropped in the box. Marc-Andre ter Stegen stopped the shot but the rival forward tapped the ball in. On another day, the centre-back could have actually won a foul.

Later on in the match, Lenglet failed to control a simple throw-in from Alba. As a result, the Catalans conceded the second goal in the game which shouldn't have happened. Besides, how likely is it for two events like these to happen in the same match.

Match result: Cadiz 2-1 Barcelona
