"It is absolutely possible. It's what Barca should do. Incorporate players that can make a difference," presidential candidate Toni Freixa has told RAC1 when asked if the Catalans have funds to sign Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland this summer.
Earlier this week, Freixa claimed that he'd reached a €250m agreement with an unnamed investor who is willing to fund the signing of three players ahead of the 2020/21 season.
"We will never talk about players until we present them," the presidential hopeful added about Barca's interest in the Paris Saint-Germain forward and the Borussia Dortmund striker.
"It is a bad strategy because you serve other clubs that step on you in negotiations on a platter."
As per a recent report from Cadena SER, however, the club's debt currently stands at €1.17b.
Barca also reportedly decided not to spend around €5m on Eric Garcia's move from Man City in January so it would be a huge surprise if the Catalans sign at least one €100m-player at the end of the season.
