Fabrizio Romano provides update on Ter Stegen to Dortmund rumours

Apparently, there were rumours that Borussia Dortmund considered signing Marc-Andre ter Stegen. However, the goalkeeper will stay at Barcelona, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports.

"Marc Andre ter Stegen is not a target for Borussia Dortmund. He wants to stay at Barcelona - he’s not been told anything about a potential transfer this summer as he’s a key player for Barca.

"Borussia Dortmund are in talks to sign Gregol Kobel from Stuttgard as GK," Romano has tweeted.

"To be 100% clear about this one. Marc ter Stegen will not leave Barcelona this summer. He’s staying and he’s not considering any other option - same for BVB," he added later.

Meanwhile, Ter Steegn has undergone knee surgery and could miss up to four months.

In the 2020/21 season, the German played 42 matches for Barcelona, as per Transfermarkt, conceding 50 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets

Barca make offer to pendig free agent Donnarruma, put Ter Stegen on market (reliability: 3 stars)

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Barcelona have offered Gianluigi Donnarumma a contract worth €10m per year, with his deal at AC Milan set to expire at the end of the season. The goalkeeper has a similar offer from Juventus, it's said.

Pedulla adds that Barca are dissatisfied with Marc-Andre ter Stegen and have put him on the transfer market.

Now it's up to Donnarruma to decide between Barca and Juve, and, according to the same source, a move to Catalonia could be preferable. Juventus are Milan's arch-rivals and the fans are going to make Gigi's life insufferable if he chooses to join the Bianconeri.

It should also be added that Donnarumma is represented by Mino Raiola, who is said to be a close friend of Joan Laporta's.

Ter Stegen could miss up to 4 months after knee surgery

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set to undergo a knee surgery that could keep him on the sidelines for up to four months, Cadena SER report. In the best case, though, the German would miss between two and three months.

If Ter Stegen will be sidelined for four months, he would miss the start of the 2021/22 season, the same way he did this term.

In total, Ter Stegen played 42 matches for Barcelona this season, as per Transfermarkt, conceding 50 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets. Statistically, the 2020/21 season has been Marc's worst one since his arrival at Camp Nou.
