Laporta dreams of Guardiola, considers one condition of Pep's possible comeback (reliability: 5 stars)

Joan Laporta considers Pep Guardiola his favourite option to replace Ronald Koeman, according to Mundo Deportivo's Fernando Polo.

The president believes that it's almost impossible to return the Catalan coach to Camp Nou. At the same time, he plans to convince Guardiola to come back if the Citizens win the Champions League on Saturday, May 29.

In 2018, Guardiola himself said that he wouldn't coach Barca again. His father, however, has recently said that nothing can be ruled out.

The 50-year-old managed Barcelona between 2008 and 2012, leading the team to 2 Champions League trophies and 3 La Liga titles.

Joan Laporta is looking for a replacement for Ronald Koeman in the Camp Nou dugout, according to TV3.

Laporta told the Dutchman so during their meeting on Tuesday. The club's president also asked the current head coach for 15 more days to finalize negotiations with other candidates.

Koeman will only continue at the helm of Barcelona if Laporta fails to find him a successor, as per the reputable Catalan source.

The 58-year-old's agent Rob Jansen, however, claimed that his client 'may continue even beyond next season' following Tuesday's meeting.

Koeman is tied with the Blaugrana until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

"There was a positive atmosphere during the meeting and I personally left with a good feeling. The parties listened to each other and there was mutual respect," Rob Jansen, the agent of Ronald Koeman, has told De Telegraaf.

"The feelings were very good and I would say that Koeman may continue even beyond next season, but we are not there yet, there will be more talks."

Koeman and his agent meet Barcelona's president Joan Laporta and vice-president Rafa Yuste on Tuesday, May 26. According to reports in Spain, no decision over the coach's future was made and new meetings will follow.

The Dutchman's contract with Barca runs until 2022 and his intention is to continue at Camp Nou.
