Ex-Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o was recently elected the president of the Cameroon Football Federation.
However, Eto'o's first big challenge is successfully hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in January, amidst talk of postponement due to Cameroon's unpreparedness.
Speaking to Canal Plus about the possibility of the AFCON being postponed, Eto'o said: "I don't see any reason to postpone it.
"If the Euros can go on at the middle of a pandemic, I don't see a reason why the AFCON shouldn't go on.
"I repeat, what I find hard to believe is that some Africans are accomplices."
In the past, Barca usually had a lot of representatives at the AFCON, like Eto'o, Yaya Toure and Seydou Keita.
However, there will be no representatives from Barca's first team at next year's tournament, unless Morocco invites Abde Ez, which is unlikely.
