Barcelona have been linked with a possible move for Rafael Leao. The Portuguese is represented by agent Jorge Mendes with whom the Barca officials met recently.
We believe that there are at least two ways Xavi could use the 22-year-old should he join us this summer.
Option 1: centre-forward
Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen - Dest, Araujo, Pique, Jordi Alba - Busquets, De Jong, Pedri - Ferran Torres, Leao, Ansu Fati.
Leao played a centre-forward during his time at Lille and Sporting CP. It was his performances in this exact position that resulted in a move to AC Milan.
Playing in this position, the 22-year-old recorded 23 goals and eight assists in 69 games.
This lineup would also imply that Ansu Fati is a regular start, playing in his favourite position on the left.
Option 2: left winger
Barcelona XI : Ter Stegen - Dest, Araujo, Pique, Jordi Alba - Busquets, De Jong, Pedri - Ferran Torers, Aubameyang, Leao.
Since his move to Italy, Leao has been deployed on the left wing. This allows the Portuguese to both create chances and have his go at the goal. This season, Rafael recorded 14 goals and 12 assists in 42 matches.
This could be an option if Ansu needs rest or is down with another injury.
