The Dutchman would be leaving Camp Nou after three years at the club. During his spell in Catalonia, De Jong was a regular starter under all of his four different coaches.

In total, Frenkie registered 13 goals and 17 assists in 140 matches. However, he never delivered solid performances on a consistent basis.
