Raphinha – 9
The Brazilian winger came up clutch when Barca needed inspiration in attack. He was a menace with his movement and tested De Gea with some surging shots. Assisted the opener with a great cross and then scored the equalizer with his cross/shot going into the goal. Almost a one-man attacking army.
Franck Kessie – 7
Had a great first half in which he helped Barca dominate possession and help defensively. Won 3/3 aerial duels and made 3 possession recoveries. Started growing weary in the second half and allowed United to get past him too easily.
Robert Lewandowski – 6.5
Bit of a topsy turvy outing for Lewandowski. Was kept quiet by Varane for large parts of te game, but also able to test De Gea with some nice efforts. Allowed Raphinha’s goal to happen with smart movement in the box.
Marcos Alonso – 6
Scored a great goal from a corner, smartly guiding a header past the near post to give Barca the lead. Not too proactive at the back and allowed Rashford to go past him quite easily for his goal.
Gavi – 4.5
Too aggressive off the ball and made some unnecessary fouls, getting himself booked and suspended for the next game. Not really able to create much and was neutralized by the opposition backline.
Frenkie de Jong – 4
Frenkie struggled to shield his backline properly from his deeper role, nor was he able to put a lid on United’s swift breaks. Struggled to maintain a strong midfield line and gave away the ball quite a few times too. Unable to create much either.
Jules Kounde – 4
Not at all convincing as a centre-back and scored a silly own goal to make things worse. Was not able to deal well with Weghorst or Rashford.
