Atletico manager Diego Simeone made some bold claims about Ter Stegen in Barcelona's 'A New Era' documentary on Prime Video.
"I've always said it. Barcelona's goalkeeper plays better with his feet than any other player at every team in La Liga," Simeone said.
Ter Stegen is considered one of the best shot-stoppers in the game but his ability to play out from the back has also been heralded over the years.
However, Ter Stegen's pass accuracy stands at 86.1%, per FBRef. That is less than that of many players in La Liga. For Instance, Andreas Christensen boasts a pass accuracy of 96%. Pedri, Gavi and Gundogan all record passing stats of 90% and above.
In Barca's game against Mallorca, Ter Stegen made a shocking mistake where he passed the ball directly to an opponent leading to the first of two goals Barca conceded on the day.
Ter Stegen is good with his feet, but Simeone is clearly exaggerating here.
