Neymar tears ACL and meniscus, retirement possible

Neymar has torn his ACL [anterior cruciate ligament] and meniscus in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, Al Hilal have confirmed.

Two things combined, this is a potentially career-ending injury. He is going to miss the entire season at least. He will also undergo surgery.

The Brazilian was in tears after he had suffered the nasty injury. The 31-year-old was stretchered off as he couldn't get off the ground.

Last summer, Neymar joined Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for €90m from Paris Saint-Germain. He was heavily linked with the Barcelona comeback too.
