Some fans believe it makes no sense to continuously play Ronald Araujo at right-back just to please Jules Kounde who only wants to be a centre-back.
Reddit user NicolasFoot is one of them.
"Am I the only one who thinks that forcing Araujo out wide to please Kounde is a massive mistake? Araujo is a better centre-back than Kounde, Kounde is a better right-back than Araujo. Araujo's lack of ability on the ball is getting exploited by most opponents, it results in way worse build-up play. Kounde gifting the opposition at least one chance every game leads to us conceding more.
"Surely if they both don't like playing there [at right-back], Xavi should either listen to them both or do what's best for the team, not just listen to Jules at a disadvantage to Araujo and the team."
On Saturday, Ronald Araujo himself stated that he doesn't like to play at right-back either. Before that, Xavi confirmed this is where the Uruguayan can be used sometimes.
It seems difficult to play both Araujo and Kounde at centre-back when Inigo Martinez is in such a great form – unless Xavi switches to a three-at-the-back formation on a permanent basis.
How should Xavi solve the dilemma?
