Barcelona plans to stick with Xavi regardless of their defeat in El Clasico, for the third time in eight months, multiple sources say.
According to Diario Sport, there will be no crisis meeting to discuss Xavi's future as the board fully trusts him.
Barca's message to Xavi is clear despite last night's result: "You will stay with us," per Mundo Deportivo.
Thus, Xavi has no worries about losing his job, plus he has a contract with Barca until the summer of 2025 after signing an extension in September 2023.
Asked if Xavi could be sacked following the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid, Barca Sporting Director Deco labelled such talks as "meaningless."
Regardless of the board's trust in Xavi, things might change quickly if Barca's form doesn't improve. The Blaugrana are currently fourth in La Liga, eight points behind Girona, although they have a game in hand.
In February, Barca will begin their Champions League challenge against Napoli who have also been in stuttering form lately.
