Lamine Yamal has confirmed that he has signed a deal with Adidas. He said: "I'm so proud to join Adidas.
"It has always been the brand that the best players wear. Leo Messi used to be my idol growing up, and he has been wearing Adidas boots since I started watching football.
"I'm very excited for the years to come."
Yamal had a contract with Nike throughout his developmental years, but the relations between the player and the American company broke down in recent months.
The youngster played with white boots for a while after that contract ended. He joins a mass exodus of top football players from the American sportswear company.
Harry Kane, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Diogo Dalot and Jack Grealish among others have exited the company.
Nike is witnessing an exodus of its leading talent at the moment as financial realities bite. In December, the company announced that it needs to save a $2billion [£1.6bn] over the next three years as a result of poor sales.
