"I think that to define him [Ter Stegen], we need to compare him to Victor Valdes, the best goalkeeper in the history of Barca," Xavi has said at the latest presser.
"In Marc-Andre's case, there is also nobility, personality... he is a captain, leader... I think of many words to describe him. I think he is an example within the locker room and on the pitch. A captain with a capital letter," the Barca boss added.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will make his 400th appearance for Barcelona against Mallorca. He has been part of the club for almost 10 years now.
To beat Victor Valdes in the number of appearances made for Barca, the German has to play 137 more matches – that's around three full seasons.
Ter Stegen has conceded 20 goals in 22 games for Blaugrana this season, keeping 10 clean sheets.
