It was reported earlier this week that Barcelona are planning to sign Erling Haaland in 2026. Mundo Deportivo report that the Catalans are more likely to get their man in even earlier than that — in the summer of 2025.
There are four factors that, as per the paper, will help Blaugrana land the Norwegian next year.
1. Financial Fair Play. Man City have been hit with 115 charges for breaching the Premier League financial rules. If proven, the Citizens could allegedly be stripped of some of their titles and even face demotion to lower leagues. It will lead to an exodus of players from the Etihad.
2. Guardiola's contract. Pep Guardiola's current deal with Man City is up in 2025 and there is no indication he wants to stay at the Etihad beyond it.
3. Laporta. The Barcelona president has an excellent relationship with Rafaela Pimenta. It won't be difficult for Laporta to strike a deal with her.
4. Maxwell. The former Barcelona player Maxwell works as one of Haaland's agents alongside Pimenta. He could help convince the striker to move to Barca.
