Ronald Araujo and his camp have so far refused to respond to Barca's long-term offer for a new contract, according to Marca's Luis Rojo.
Earlier in March, Deco claimed Barca are close to sealing the new contract for Araujo but it was up to the player to accept the offer on the table.
“Araujo will sign a new deal if he wants,” Deco said, “We will make an effort because he deserves that. Our effort as a club is to keep the best players we have”.
Barcelona have offered the big defender a deal that runs until the summer of 2029 but Bayern have reportedly offered him a package with a higher salary.
Barca are well aware that Bayern are prepared to pay as much as €100m for Araujo. They have the money ready, Marca says. Thus, the Blaugrana would be tempted to accept the offer if Araujo continues to refuse Barca's contract terms.
Araujo had a difficult start to the season like most players at Barca, but he's regained his confidence and is a big reason why Barca have now kept 5 clean sheets in their last 10 games.
