Barcelona's plan for 8 centre-backs revealed – only 2 are sure of staying

Barcelona have eight centre-backs who they must think about next season. Of the octet only Pau Cubarsi and Jules Kounde are guaranteed to continue at the club next season.

Here's Barca's plan for all eight centre-backs as revealed by top source Luis Felix.

Pau Cubarsi. The 17-year-old is now seen as the present and future of the club at centre-back. He's guaranteed a place in the squad next season with Barca working to extend his contract.

Ronald Araujo. Sadly, Barca are not sure if Araujo would be playing for them next season. Until he signs a new contract nothing can be guaranteed. Bayern are said to be willing to sign him for a lot of money.

Jules Kounde. The French defender is also guaranteed to stay at the club next season as Barca sees him as a versatile player. Kounde has thrived at right-back which means Barca would have to sign a big player if they sell him.

Inigo Martinez. Due to salary problems, the Spaniard is not even registered for next season despite having a contract until 2025. If Barca can't register him at the start of the next campaign they will have to let him go for free and then pay a penalty.

Andreas Christensen. Barca values the Dane highly for his versatility but they could cash in on him to solve their financial problem. Selling Christensen will generate pure profit for the club as he arrived for free in 2022.

And for the loanees

Clement Lenglet. Barca have no plans to keep the Frenchman. The plan is to sell him to the highest bidder but for now, there aren't many suitors as Lenglet is a benchwarmer at Aston Villa.

Eric Garcia. Barca are also hoping they can sell the Spaniard to Girona. Garcia has impressed at the Barcelona-based club but there still isn't any space for him at Barca.

Chadi Riad. Barca can buyback the powerful defender if they pay €7m. The club will only take this option to sell the player at a higher price given his impressive performances at Betis. However, that's unlikely to happen.
