'He told us very clearly': Bayern director issues big update on Kimmich future

"He [Kimmich] told us very clearly: I want to know who the new coach is," Bayern Munich director Max Eberl has told Sky.

"We will see whether he wants to stay, whether we want it, is ultimately up to Joshua to decide," he added.

Thomas Tuchel, who apparently has a poor relationship with Kimmich, will leave the club in July. Bayern are yet to decide on their future head coach.

Barcelona reportedly keep Kimmich on their radars ahead of the potential summer move. However, Barca will only be able to afford him if they complete some big sales first.

Kimmich's current deal with Bayern expires in 2025 which means he could be available for a relatively low cost this summer.

The defensive midfielder, who can also play at right-back, has scored one goal and provided eight assists in 31 appearances for Bayern Munich this season.
