Barcelona and Marcos Alonso have reached the decision to part ways this June, Fabrizio Romano says.
According to El Laguero, Alonso has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to join them as a free agent when he leaves Barca.
However, Alonso's arrival in Madrid could depend on Atleti offloading some defenders like Mario Hermoso, Gabriel Paulista or someone else.
Alonso has missed the most of this season with Barca after suffering a back injury last December. He returned in late March but has been a benchwarmer since.
The Spanish defender has only played seven games for Barca this season, making him one of the least utilized outfield players under Xavi.
Alonso joined Barca in 2022 as a free agent and has played just 44 games. He scored three goals in that period.
